If cared for properly, men's short hair styles can give you clean clean look and confidence to empower you in the workplace or off the clock. Conversely, they too have the propensity to grow akwardly and require constant attention. Unlike longer men’s hair styles, when a short hair style grows even a fraction of an inch, it can look leagues different than when firt cut.

When was the last time you had your hair cut and it grew out to be as smooth and sleek as the original cut? Frankly, it doesn’t happen often because most stylists target their hair cuts for the initial shock-and-awe look with little regard to how the cut will look in a couple weeks. Instead of aiming for an out-the-door, happy customer, stylists should plan for growth and better understand how the men’s hair styles they create will look after significant growth.

If your stylist fits into this category, next time you go in for a trim, ask him/her to be particularly careful in applying gradient cut sides. Most stylist like to take the wheel and drive, but if you’re going to get the short hair style you want, you’ll have to be assertive.

When gradients are cut with proper regard to the shape of the clients head, they often prove to be the best means of maintaining a fresh-cut look. Not only will you be able to avoid your hair stylist for a couple extra weeks, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing your men's short hair style looks as good as the day you walked out of the barber shop.
