The Mop: A Shaggy Hair Phenomenon

The Mop: A Shaggy Hair Phenomenon

How many of you can say that you’ve ever sported a mop? I’m talking real-deal mop, not just your run-of-the-mill shaggy hair cut. Likely not many because the mop is only blessed upon those with naturally straight hair or who spend hours of their tooling their hair with a hot iron.

The mop (as seen in accompanying photos) gets its name from its shape. It’s strange that something strikingly similar to a household object can look so good on top of someone’s head. Not only does it look good, it is a movement in men’s hair style.

Unlike most shaggy hair styles, the mop says two things in particular about the map who wields it: I know how to party, yet I still appreciate a clean cut. It has been successfully dubbed “the shaggy hair style for businessmen.” –not to mention its success with the ladies! The mop has now boasted popularity for several decades as it was pioneered by rockin’ hippies throughout the 70’s

Though the mop was evidently on hiatus for most of the 80’s (by far the worst ten years in history), it is now back in full force and is worn by shaggy hair advocates across the globe. If you have the means (genetically of course) proudly wear the mop as your token shaggy hair cut.
